New cottage???

Tonight we took a drive to see a cottage that we are "thinking" about buying  : )
SOoooo we took the drive with 6 of us, 2 of the boys & thier wives.
The guys heard about this great deal on a cottage.
It is closer than the place we have, in a way different direction from home.

We all agreed.... the view is amazing!!!

But this is the cottage..... drum roll ........................

And this.......................

OK.... the guys are seeing potential.... : ) telling us that we will "fix it up"  :)

even make a few bucks.... "flip it" they said : )

Yea.... the girls are talking screen porches, fireplaces, furniture.....

( and really hoping that the offer we make on this one,

is WAY TOO LOW for the owner of this sad little place  )

What do ya think????

At least it was a nice drive & dinner out : )

  1. You are paying for the view. Everything else can be fixed, changed, torn down, rebuilt and what a fun family project. What great blog posts that would inspire. :)

  2. Kathy, me again. Sorry you didn't get the cottage. We had some friends that just bought a lake house up off of Lake Michigan in the Chicago vicinity. I think they bid on four properties before they finally bought something. Half the fun is looking and the other half is pulling it together. Enjoy the hunt.
Thanks for stopping by and commenting on my violin. :)

  3. Wooooaaaaaa....nice view for sure...but the building looks a little scarey.
LOTS of work, but maybe that could be a good time for family bonding????

  6. The view in incredible!!! My parents took a chance on a lake lot 30 years ago. Built a tiny little cottage that they stayed in for years on the weekends. Now they have an incredible house (for all of us to stay in) with beautiful gardens and Whit(my daughter) and her new husband are living in the cottage!!! DREAM BIG!!
PS.... You are not missing anything on these channels!!

  12. Very pretty view. People are not flipping though like they use to, no risk taking these days. Thanks so much for your opinion, I would love for you to come and help.

  14. Gorgeous view! It would be a lot of work but I am sure it has so much potential! My aunt and uncle have bought MANY a UGLY house in their day and have made them fabulous!

Also, thanks so much for stopping by my blog and commenting on my bench. I am thrilled with how it came out. And great idea on the keys but we already have a mail center with hooks in our kitchen for our keys. Nothing is in the drawer as of yet! lol

  15. Hey you!!! where have you been?! Hope all is well. Can you believe Fall is here? I wasn't ready for it until just a few days ago...now I'm enjoying all the colors and smells that Aumtumn brings.
Did you go to Allegan? I missed the last show.
That would be awesome if we could hook up next season for a whole day of vintage collecting.

Fact is..I could really use some friends.
I sure would like to live with that view in my face every morning. Beautiful.
